Cincinnati Children’s Hospital creates new way to give during holiday season

While old Saint Nick may be in quarantine this holiday season, his elves are still able to give to some much deserving children in our area. “This year, things are understandably looking a little different just with COVID restrictions in the hospital, just trying to keep everyone as safe and healthy as we can, but we want to make sure that our patients and our families get as fun as special of a holiday season as they can,” said Children’s donor officer Sara Coyle. Each year, donors drop off donations such as toys and games as well as monetary gifts at the hospital for patients there. That won’t be happening this year.”So this year we’ve created our Holiday Bundle Package which is an awesome way for the community to support, and it’s a monetary donation this time. What they can do is we help set up a personal fundraising page,” Coyle said. The hospital’s donation team has created age-specific holiday bundles for donors to choose from online starting at $25 and up. Child Life Care team members will then purchase and distribute the toys to our patients to spread good cheer throughout the holiday season.”These kids are going through the unthinkable already and we want to try and make it as special as they can with limited visitors, limited gifts, limited activities in the hospital,” Coyle said. Children’s also has an Amazon Wish List for donors to shop on. All donations are still tax deductible. The Liberty Center is matching the Holiday Bundle donations, dollar for dollar, up to $20,000.
