THANKS FOR HAVING ME. JENNIFER: PEOPLE ARE WONDERING HOW TO KEEP NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS GOING. YOU’VE GOT SOME IDEAS. >> I DO. BECAUSE FITNESS CAN TRAVEL ANYWHERE YOU ARE. SO IF YOU’RE HAVING TROUBLE STICKING TO THE RESOLUTIONS, LET ME SHOW YOU HOW TO MAKE IT SUPER EASY. ALL RIGHT. SO I HAVE A WATER BOTTLE HERE WITH ME. JUST TO SHOW YOU CAN DO IT WITH ANY OBJECT. WE’LL DO SQUAT PRESS VARIATIONS. WE’LL SQUAT AND PRESS THE WEIGHT ABOVE OUR HEADS. SQUAT, TWIST. JEN, THIS IS A GREAT WAY TO GET TOTAL BODY FITNESS AND IT DOESN’T TAKE ALL DAY. JUST ABOUT FIVE MINUTES, 10 MINUTES, 15 MINUTES A DAY IS A GREAT WAY TO GO ALONG THE FITNESS JOURNEY. YOUR HEART IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MUSCLE IN YOUR BODY. LET’S PUT THE WEIGHT DOWN AND GET PLY YO METRIC CARDIO. I WANT TO STAND HERE, JUMP TO THE SIDE, SWING THE ARMS. THIS IS A SLALOM HOP, LIKE YOU’RE GOING DOWN THE SKI SLOPES. AND YOU’RE A SKIER, PUSHING OFF THE SKIS AND THE POLES AT THE SAME TIME. JENNIFER: I BET YOU WERE GOOD AT THE LONG JUMP IN HIGH SCHOOL. >> I HAD A LOT OF SPRING IN HIGH SCHOOL. IF YOU HAVE TO BUILD FROM A SEATED POSITION, IT CAN BE SUPER EFFECTIVE. WE’LL SIT DOWN, JUST LIKE SO. WE’LL PRESS OUR WEIGHT ABOVE OUR HEADS, BRING IT BACK, AND EXTEND UP. THIS IS A SHOULDER PRESS INTO A TRICEP EXTENSION. FOR THE CARDIO, WE’ PUMP OUR ARMS HERE. FROM THE SHOULDERS, NOT MOVING OUR LEGS BUT OUR HEART RATE IS INCREASING. THAT IS WHAT CARDIO IS ALL ABOUT. FITNESS IN 2021 WILL BE OURS. WE’LL REDEFINE IT. JENNIFER: I LOVE HOW YOU MAKE IT FIT FOR EVERYONE. YOU DID A STUDY ON NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS. WHAT DID YOU DISCOVER? >> WE FOUND 91% OF ALL AMERICANS WHO MADE A RESOLUTION DID SO WITH SOMETHING TIED TO FITNESS. 84% MADE FITNESS THE TOP PRIORITY. THAT TELLS US AMERICANS ARE READY TO STAND UP AND MAKE THEIR FITNESS ESSENTIAL. JENNIFER: IF YOU WANT TO FLIP THE SCRIPT ON YOUR FITNESS, HOW DO YOU GET IT GOING RIGHT NOW? >> WHAT I WOULD SAY IS INSTEAD OF MAKING THE RESOLUTION SOMETHING THAT’S SUPER STRESSFUL, MAKE IT A POSITIVE AFFIRMATION. TELL YOURSELF WHAT YOU WILL DO, NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. I WILL WAKE UP THIS MORNING AND HAVE A POSITIVE DISPOSITION. I WILL WAKE UP TODAY AND MOVE MY BODY NOT ONLY FOR MY PHYSICAL FITNESS, BUT MY MENTAL HEALTH AS WELL.
