Wales visit Wembley tonight to take on England in a friendly before both teams’ Nations League campaigns resume at the weekend.

The friendly, a warm-up for England’s meetings with Belgium on Sunday and Denmark on Wednesday, and Wales’ games against the Republic of Ireland and Bulgaria on the same dates, marks the first match between the nations since Euro 2016.

At that competition in France, England were 2-1 winners in the group stage, several months before Gareth Southgate was named Three Lions manager.

Here’s all you need to know about tonight’s game:

When is it?

The match kicks off at Wembley Stadium at 8pm BST tonight.

It will be played behind closed doors.

How can I watch it?

The game will air live on ITV, and viewers can stream it online on ITV Hub.

What is the team news?

Jadon Sancho, Tammy Abraham and Ben Chilwell will miss the match, having broken coronavirus guidelines. Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden have also been left out after similarly breaking Covid-19 rules last month. Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has been recalled.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Bukayo Saka make their first England senior appearances while Jack Grealish makes his first start.

Gareth Bale has been left out of Ryan Giggs’ Wales squad due to a lack of fitness, and Aaron Ramsey had had to withdraw due to Juventus’ coronavirus guidelines.

Confirmed line-ups

England XI: Pope; Gomez, Coady, Keane; Trippier, Phillips, Winks, Saka; Ings, Calvert-lewin, Grealish

Wales XI: Hennessy; C Roberts, Rodon, Mepham, Davies; Ampadu Morrell, Williams; T Roberts, Matondo, Moore

Odds

England: 3/10

Wales: 15/2

Draw: 4/1

Prediction

Wales are always motivated for this fixture and are in better form than Gareth Southgate’s men, but England have the greater quality and squad depth. England should get the win, but don’t be surprised if they’re forced to work harder for it than they’d like in this friendly. England 2-1.
