TWITTER has warned it could SUSPEND sick online trolls who tweet saying they hope Trump dies after his coronavirus hospitalization.

The social media giant’s warning came as Trump was hospitalized less than a day after it was revealed he tested positive for COVID-19.

As Trump revealed on Twitter that he tested positive for COVID-19, many users wished him a speedy recovery.

Others, however, have wished ill on him – and even said things like “I hope he dies.”

Some users have made comments about him “ingesting bleach,” mocking a suggestion about a possible coronavirus cure he made at a press conference earlier this year that was promptly shot down as unsafe by doctors.

Social media giant Twitter has warned it may suspend users or force users to take down tweets as such comments would violate it’s abusive behavior policy.

“Content that wishes, hopes or expresses a desire for death, serious bodily harm or fatal disease against an individual is against our rules,” a Twitter spokesperson said in a statement to The Sun.

As per Twitter’s abusive behavior policy, prohibited content includes “hoping that someone dies as a result of a serious disease.”

The policy states “a number of factors” are considered when determining a penalty for a violation of the abusive behavior policy.

Users may be forced to remove the violating tweet and “serve a period of time in read-only mode before they can Tweet again,” the policy states.

If users have made such violations before, they may face a longer – or permanent – suspension, according to the guidelines.

Twitter told Motherboard it “won’t take enforcement action on every tweet” and will “prioritize the removal of content when it has a clear call to action that could potentially cause real-world harm.”

The social media giant’s warning came as Trump was rushed to the hospital after being diagnosed with COVID-19 earlier on Friday.

Trump’s physician said he was given an “antibody cocktail” and was “fatigued but in good spirits.”

The President then shared a video message saying he thinks he’s “doing very well” as he prepared to be flown via helicopter to the hospital.

“I’m going to Walter Reed hospital. I think I’m doing very well. But we’re going to make sure things work out,” Trump said.

“The First Lady is doing very well,” he said of Melania, who also tested positive for COVID-19.

“So thank you very much. I appreciate it. I will never forget it. Thank you,” Trump said.

Vice President Mike Pence and wife Second Lady Karen both tested negative for COVID-19.

Although Trump said he thinks he is “doing very well,” Pence may have to take over if the president falls too ill.
