The book is about transforming your mind, body and goals, and as Tyson reveals in his chat to us, keeping physically fit is important for his mental health.

The boxer, who explained he is a manic depressive struggles daily and said, “I don’t need a lockdown to struggle”. He went on to reveal, “If I don’t train all the time a negative force can creep up on me, and I can start drifting down a dark hole.

“When I train it releases serotonin in the brain and I feel good afterwards, that’s why I train twice a day seven days a week. Plus, it’s good for my boxing career to stay fit and healthy.”

Tyson revealed that he wanted his new book to help people who are struggling, “It’s come out at the right time,” Tyson explained, “Where it’s in a position that it can help people, there’s a lot of insight in that book on how to deal with your mental health and how to deal with stuff like that.”

Speaking about his experiences, Tyson said it revealed how he returned from his, “dark, dark place”.

He went on to explain that it’s all about thinking positive, which he knows isn’t always easy, however, “Talk to somebody, family, friends, relatives, a doctor, anybody… I think communication is the asset to all mental health problems, because it all stems from keeping it to yourself and bottling it up inside.”

Tyson recently donated his win from his Deontay Wilder fight – $1million – to the homeless and explained his reasons behind the gesture saying, “It’s important that I spread the message of mental health and I know people may be sick of me talking about it, but I don’t think you can ever be sick of hearing I’m trying to help people.”

He went on to reveal that there are loads of people who are suffering in silence and he read a quote that suicide is up 200% in the last few months, so it’s difficult.
