The campaign has not announced any safety details for Pence’s visit.At previous events, guests have had their temperatures checked, hand sanitizer was available and they had to sign waivers, but masks were not required to be worn. Gov. Tony Evers ordered restrictions on the capacity of indoor public events but they exempt political rallies. Pence was expected to speak about jobs, the economy and American manufacturing.The Waukesha County Health Department said earlier this year there was community transmission of COVID-19 and recommended social distancing and following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. As of Thursday afternoon, there were nearly 8,600 confirmed positive cases in Waukesha County.At least 96 patients have died.Those wanting to attend can request two free tickets online.The campaign has not said how many tickets would be available.
